• 24-Nov-2023 - The paper "Online reinforcement learning for condition-based group maintenance using factored Markov decision processes" authored by Jianyu Xu, Bin Liu, Xiujie Zhao and Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by European Journal of Operational Research. 

• 24-Oct-2023 - Xiaolin Wang's research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China under the Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program (Overseas). 

• 15-Apr-2023 - The paper "Monitoring Aggregate Warranty Claims with Dynamically Designed CUSUM and EWMA Charts" authored by Chenglong Li, Junjie Wang, and Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by International Journal of Production Research. 

• 17-Feb-2023 - The paper "A prognostic driven predictive maintenance framework based on Bayesian deep learning" authored by Liangliang Zhuang, Ancha Xu, and Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by Reliability Engineering & System Safety.

• 18-Dec-2022 - Liangliang Zhuang (my former research assistant) attended the The 4th International Conference on System Reliability and Safety Engineering (online) during 15 - 18 Dec 2022, and presented the paper "A prognostic driven predictive maintenance framework based on Bayesian deep learning" by Liangliang Zhuang, Ancha Xu, and Xiao-Lin Wang. ​The paper has received the Best Student Paper Award. 

• 13-Nov-2022 - Liangliang Zhuang attended the The 6th Doctoral Forum on Statistics (online) during 12 - 13 Nov 2022, and presented the paper "A prognostic driven predictive maintenance framework based on Bayesian deep learning" by Liangliang Zhuang, Ancha Xu, and Xiao-Lin Wang. ​The paper has received the Best Student Paper Award (the second place). 

• 01-Nov-2022 - The paper "Imperfect maintenance policies for warranted products under stochastic performance degradation" authored by Xiujie Zhao, Bin Liu, Jianyu Xu, and Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by European Journal of Operational Research. 

• 08-Sep-2022 - Xiaolin Wang's research has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. 

• 29-Jul-2022 - Xiaolin Wang's research has been funded by the Ministry of Education of China under the Humanities and Social Sciences Project. 

• 26-Jul-2022 - Xiaolin Wang has joined the Business School, Sichuan University, as an associate professor (research track). 

• 13-Jul-2022 - The paper "A new cost-sharing preventive maintenance program under two-dimensional warranty" authored by Shizhe Peng, Wei Jiang, Lai Wei, and Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by International Journal of Production Economics. 

• 26-May-2022 - The paper "Design and pricing of usage-driven customized two-dimensional extended warranty menus" authored by Xiao-Lin Wang has been accepted for publication by IISE Transactions. 

• 09-Jan-2022 - Xiaolin Wang presented the paper "Simultaneous or sequential? Retail strategies of a new product and an extended warranty" at the 12th POMS-HK International Conference, 8-9 Jan, 2022. The conference was originally scheduled to be held in Lingnan University, HK, but was changed to an online event at the last minute due to a new wave of Omicron version of COVID-19 pandemic.

• 24-Dec-2021 - The paper "Warranty Reserve Management: Demand Learning and Funds Pooling" authored by Xiao-Lin Wang, Yuanguang Zhong, Lishuai Li, Wei Xie, and Zhi-Sheng Ye has been accepted for publication by Manufacturing & Service Operations Management. 

• 01-Dec-2021 - Dr. Xiaolin Wang was appointed as an editorial board member for the International Journal of Reliability and Safety. Look forward to serving the journal. 

• 23-Oct-2021 - The paper ''A temporal-spatial cleaning optimization method for photovoltaic power plants'' by Zhonghao Wang, Zhengguo Xu, Xiaolin Wang, and Min Xie has been accepted for publication by Sustainable Energy Technologies and Assessments. 

• 21-Sep-2021 - Xiaolin Wang presented the paper "Modeling multivariate degradation processes with time-variant covariates and imperfect maintenance effects" at the 31st European Safety and Reliability Conference (ESREL), 19-23 Sep, 2021. The conference was held in Angers, France, but in a hybrid mode (my presentation was pre-recorded and broadcasted). 

• 20-Jul-2021 - Xiaolin Wang presented the paper "Design and pricing of extended warranty menus based on the multinomial logit choice model" at the 11th IMA International Conference on Modelling in Industrial Maintenance and Reliability (MIMAR), 29 June - 1 July, 2021. The conference was originally scheduled to be held in Nottingham, UK, but was a virtual on-line conference. 

• 05-Mar-2021 - The paper ''A finite-horizon condition-based maintenance for a two-unit system with dependent degradation processes'' by Bin Liu, Mahesh D. Pandey, Xiaolin Wang, and Xiujie Zhao has been accepted for publication by the European Journal of Operational Research.

• 16-Nov-2020 - The paper ''Modeling multivariate degradation processes with time-variant covariates and imperfect maintenance effects'' by Xiaolin Wang, Olivier Gaudoin, Laurent Doyen, Christophe Berenguer, and Min Xie has been accepted for publication by the Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry. 

• 29-Oct-2020 - The paper ''A performance-based warranty for products subject to competing hard and soft failures'' by Xiaolin Wang, Bin Liu, and Xiujie Zhao has been accepted for publication by the International Journal of Production Economics. 

• 1-Sep-2020 - Xiaolin Wang has commenced the appointment of Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. 

• 25-Aug-2020 - Xiaolin Wang received the Outstanding Academic Performance Award the third time! 

• 15-Jul-2020 - Xiaolin Wang has successfully defensed his PhD thesis entitled ''Design and Servicing of Product Warranties with Practical Motivations'' in 15 July 2020.  

• 9-May-2020 - The paper ''Design and pricing of extended warranty menus based on the multinomial logit choice model'' by Xiaolin Wang, Xiujie Zhao, and Bin Liu has been accepted for publication by the European Journal of Operational Research. 

• 28-Apr-2020 - Xiaolin Wang has accepted an offer of appointment of Research Assistant Professor (RAP) in the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies (LMS), The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), and he will join LMS this fall. 

• 23-Mar-2020 - The paper ''Imperfect preventive maintenance models with unpunctual execution'' by Xiaolin Wang, Hang Zhou, Ajith K. Parlikad, and Min Xie has been accepted for publication by the IEEE Transactions on Reliability.

• 19-Dec-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang attended the 2019 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) during 15 - 18 Dec 2019, at Macau, China. He was a student helper of this conference, without presentation. 

• 12-Dec-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang visited the Univ. Grenoble Alpes - Laboratoire Jean Kuntzmann, ​during 11 Nov-10 Dec and worked with Prof. Olivier Gaudoin's group on “Multivariate degradation modeling for system reliability”. 

• 11-Sep-2019 - ​The paper "An unpunctual preventive maintenance policy under two-dimensional warranty" by Xiaolin Wang, Lishuai Li, and Min Xie has been accepted for publication by the European Journal of Operational Research. ​

• 23-Aug-2019 - Xiaolin Wang received the Outstanding Academic Performance Award and Research Tuition Scholarship once again!

• 6-Jun-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang attended the 11th International Conference on Mathematical Methods in Reliability during 3-7 Jun 2019, at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, and presented the paper "Imperfect Preventive Maintenance Models with Unpunctual Execution". 

• 29-April-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang visited the Institute for Manufacturing (IfM), University of Cambridge, ​during 25-30 April and gave the following talk “An unpunctual preventive maintenance policy under two-dimensional warranty”. 

• 20-April-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang attended the Seventh International Research Conference on Systems Engineering and Management Science (IRC-SEMS2019) during 19-20 April, in Nanjing, and presented the paper "IoT-enabled innovations in product warranty management" by Xiaolin Wang and Min Xie. ​

• 18-April-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang visited School of Mechanical Engineering, Southeast University ​in 18 April and gave the talk “Engineering and Operations Decision-Makings Based on Aggregate Warranty Claims Modeling”. 

• 6-Jan-2019 - ​Xiaolin Wang attended the 10th POMS-HK international conference during 5-6 Jan 2019, at City University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong SAR, and presented the paper "On the benefits of reserve pooling over the warranty life cycle". This paper has been selected as one of the Best Student Paper Finalists.

  2018

• 21-Dec-2018 - Xiaolin Wang attended the 2018 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management (IEEM) during 16 - 19 Dec 2018, at Bangkok, Thailand. He was a student helper of this conference, and had no presentation. 

• 03-Dec-2018 - Xiaolin Wang attended the 2018 Doctoral Forum on Industrial Engineering during 30 Nov - 2 Dec 2018, in Tsinghua University, Beijing, and presented the paper "An unpunctual preventive maintenance policy under two-dimensional warranty" by Xiaolin Wang, Lishuai Li, and Min Xie. ​The paper has received the Best Student Paper Award. 

• 16-Oct-2018 - The paper "Optimal preventive maintenance strategy for leased equipment under successive usage-based contracts" by Xiaolin Wang, Lishuai Li, and Min Xie has been accepted for publication by the International Journal of Production Research. ​

• 27-Aug-2018 - Xiaolin Wang received the Outstanding Academic Performance Award and Research Tuition Scholarship. 

• 16-Jun-2018 - Xiaolin Wang attended the 10th IMA International Conference on Modelling in Industrial Maintenance and Reliability (MIMAR) during 13-15 June 2018, in Manchester, UK, and presented the paper "An unpunctual preventive maintenance strategy for items sold with a two-dimensional warranty" by Xiaolin Wang, Lishuai Li, and Min Xie. ​

• 06-Jun-2018 - The paper "On optimal upgrade strategy for second-hand multi-component systems sold with warranty" by Xiaolin Wang, Min Xie, and Lishuai Li has been accepted for publication by the International Journal of Production Research. ​

• 28-Apr-2018 - Xiaolin Wang attended the Sixth International Research Conference on Systems Engineering and Management Science (IRC-SEMS2018) during 27-28 April, in Dalian, and presented the paper "Monitoring aggregate warranty claims over the product life cycle" by Chenglong Li, Xiaolin Wang, Lishuai Li, and Min Xie. ​

• 26-Oct-2017 - The paper "Two-dimensional warranty: A literature review" by Xiaolin Wang & Wei Xie has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Risk and Reliability. ​

• 21-Sep-2017 - Xiaolin's master thesis has received the Outstanding Graduate Thesis Award of Jiangsu Province.  FILE

• 30-Jun-2017 - Xiaolin Wang has been awarded the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship (HKPFS) by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC).  

• 22-May-2017 - Xiaolin's master thesis has received the Outstanding Graduate Thesis Award of Southeast University, and been recommended to compete for the Outstanding Graduate Thesis Award of Jiangsu Province. FILE

• 23-Apr-2017 - Xiaolin Wang has accepted the offer of PhD program in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management at City University of Hong Kong, and will start his PhD study this fall.
